Thank you for accepting my, little bit unconventional, contribution to this cause.
This is such an important issue, one that is also very close to my own heart. I have a 19 year old son who is currently going through his own struggles with personal & sexual identity. Although he receives tonnes of love & support at home, he does not share who he is with his own peers for fear of reprisal. The friends he currently hangs with are very homophobic, and I feel this is because it currently fits with his own struggles of personal acceptance.
It is a sad & fearful time for me knowing that my son feels he must compromise who he is for his own safety and whilst he finds a way to love and accept himself. I live in hope that with consistent love & understanding from his family he will find a way.
Thank you
Mx
