Juch joy in this picture. Thats what its all about. Wonderful Rev Johns.
I mean Rev Jones :)
"Thank God I'm Gay." Why?
Is it more fortunate to be Gay than heterosexual? But maybe as a priest (sic) Jones was hinting at the redemptive value of suffering.
I took it to mean he's grateful and is celebrating being gay....I know that I'm sure glad I'm a queer...And look how happy he is! Good for you, Rev. Jones.
That's an interesting point about the redemptive value of suffering. Thanking god for lots of things I guess is what being a christian and being grateful is all about.
I don't think though that the message has anything to do with saying gay is better than straight or thinking 'thank god I'm not hetero'. Maybe its more about saying he is grateful for what god has given him and that he values and nutures that. As an MMC pastor I guess he must value the way god has created him. Just a thought.
I also thank God every day for making me gay. Because I know He made me gay for a reason (though I doubt I will ever know what that reason is), and who am I to doubt God?
I thank God for every blessing in my life- even the small stuff like a nice cool breaze in the afternoon sun. Being gay is such a huge part of my life, and I have met some amazing people, and done some amazing things wit;hin the gay community. I thank God for giving me the oppotunity to experience such joys .
I thank God for making me exactly the way I am- because if I were any other way, it wouldn't be me!
Amen to that Rev; Jonathon! Paise be to God!
I am so grateful that God made me who I am. Not just the gay part of me, but also the fact that I love reading, I love politics, I love social justice and value most highly that all of us are created in the image of God, and when God was finished creating us, God looked on us and said we are good.
For those of you who quote scripture- Jesus said "love God and love one another", and in Romans we also have the most beautiful scripture that says nothing on earth or in heaven, neither angels nor demons, nor height or depths, can separate us from the love of God. John 3:16- For God so loved the WHOLE world!
The whole world includes me and all the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender peoples in the world- Jesus never made any exceptions.
You're gorgeous, Rev Jones. Thank you.
What a bright beacon you are! Wonderful !!!!
