Those are some awesome signs!! You guys are rocking it!
I knew these guys before they were famous!
Hi,
I love this site and this campaign and cannot wait for an Australia that embraces diversity and equality of relationships!!
Just wanted to point out that in the Channel 10 commercial Josh Thomas holds a sign that reads that it's 'lame' that we have to do this.
I agree that it's shameful for us as a nation that we are STILL advocating for this. However, I am concerned that the use of the word "lame" in describing something negative, in itself is an act that re-enforces inequality.
Please, if we are going to fight on behalf of equality of same sex relationships then lets beware of language that is discriminatory and offensive to people with disAbility.
Let's fight for equality and justice for all minority groups and be consistant with our values
Thank you
sorry Tim and Laura,
trying to post a comment on the main board and not personally to you two! hahah sorry! U guys are pretty bloody awesome by the way :)
'THIS IS OZ' is about making Australia an inclusive place where everyone belongs.
To this end, it is just important for us to be mindful of the language(s) and symbol(s) that we use, that we use them carefully in an inclusive manner that honors and celebrates another person’s differences and backgrounds.
Let us continue to build upon the momentum of this great campaign that celebrates our shared humanity in all its beautiful diversity.
